The Play Centre

A play centre is a place separate from school where children can play under supervision. The Royal Borough’s play service runs breakfast, after school, and school holiday play centres in schools across the borough for children between five to thirteen years of age.

Children must book their places in advance and all registration forms must be completed and signed by the parent or carer upon registration. There are other, private, services that also provide activities for children during out of school hours and holiday periods.

The play centre aims to provide quality play opportunities for creative play, recreation and self expression in a variety of settings. Typical play centre activities include; art and crafts; sports; indoor games; music and drama and cookery.
